Coleen Scott is a Costume Designer and Makeup Artist with an MFA in Costume Design from Boston University, where she received the Kahn award upon graduation. She has worked for nearly 20 years in theater, opera, film, and television. After finishing her Graduate Internship with Academy Award winning costume designer Ann Roth, Coleen worked in television and film with designers Stephanie Maslansky and Tina Nigro. She works extensively with her creative partner, photographer, Ben Trivett doing makeup, hair, and styling for fashion, fine art, and portrait photography. Coleen teaches Costume Production and Makeup for Stage and Studio at Saint Ann's School in Brooklyn, NY. She is the author of The Pastie Project, a book that documents burlesque costume history focused on the pastie. Her current project is a scholarly monograph on burlesque costume history from 1868-neo burlesque for Routledge/Taylor and Francis. Coleen received two SU CASA grants through the Brooklyn Arts Council for her volunteer work with seniors in Brooklyn, teaching quilting arts in 2016 and 2017.
